Gun in The Swartz Creek

Around 6:00 p.m. I got a phone call about a lot of police cars over by the clay court club and the Swartz Creek golf course. Since it sounded interesting I fiigured that I’d go check it out. When I got there I saw 5 or 6 marked cars and a dark blue Chevy Malibu that I assumed was an unmarked car. There were officers wading down in the creek east of the bridge and there was a Genesee County Sheriffs vehicle parked down by the water. I watched for a while from the bridge and when they pulled up a large caliber handgun from the water, the officer who appeared to be in charge yelled at me, Sir, move along”.
Now I’m not the one to make waves so I moved along.

I looked on mlive for anything which would offer a clue to how they knew a gun was there but didn’t see anything.

My theory is that the gun was used to kill Jimmy Hoffa.

Ok my fall depression is sort of here

I usually get depressed every fall. Last year was an atypical year for depression but this year its here, just a little late and for different reasons than normal. See usually I get depressed because fall usually symbolizes a new school year, a new beginning. My depression would usually involve a lot of fall time memories of Ann Arbor and my whole collegiate wasted experience and I’d have a little bit of regret and think maybe I should go back to school etc.

This year its different. I’m back in school and trying to balance school work with being a “mom”. Of course I’m not a mom which is part of the problem.

Fall in Ann Arbor brings memories of Henry Street, my first mt. bike, riding through the arboretum. I should take my bike down there and spend the day just riding around campus with no particular destination. Of course when? I don’t have time which is something that I had an abundance of back then. With all that time it seems like I would have been bored enough to attend class.

This fall I keep thinking back to the mid 90′s though. Living in Auburn Hills, Rochester, and Rochester Hills. I actually got a lot of fall riding in. I’d come home after work, jump on my Yo Eddy and cruise around Bloomer or Stoney Creek. Sometimes I would just ride the dirt roads up to Lake Orion.

My depression that I’m having now is the realization that time is really moving quickly now. Every day I have less potential. I attend class every day and study a moderate amount but my classroom experience is that of a non-person. I may as well be a ghost because I’m old emough to be a parent of the other students. Time is moving quickly and I need to use it; not waste it.

I did better than I thought on my Anatomy Lecture exam. I logged onto blackboard and my score was a 97 so that means it got graded on a curve. I feel a lot better now. I ended up with a 94% on my lab quiz which was cool. I didn’t study at all for that because I was concentrating on the lecture exam. We can drop our lowest score so I assumed that I would do awful and this would be the one I dropped. I have a Psych exam tomorrow and a microbiology quiz on Wednesday. I need to get up early tomorrow and study a lot.

On Sunday I went mt. biking out at Holdridge Lakes. It was very wet and borderline lousy conditions. My rear shifter quit working so that made it tougher. I really want to buy a new bike, preferably a full-suspension.

I just took my A/P exam. I got an 87.1%. I’m really quite upset and wondering why I even bother. Its a long story so I won’t even go into that.

I need to get all A’s though and an A was certainly do-able but I didn’t study enough and I certainly wasn’t organized. We have a test that we can drop so hopefully this will be the one.
